Abstract

The properties of the negative parity states of 53 Cr and 55 Fe are investigated in the framework of the intermediate coupling in the unified model and the shell model. Energy levels, electromagnetic transition rates, branching ratios, mixing ratios, lifetimes and spectroscopic factors have been calculated. It is shown that the two approaches yield comparable results and are in fair agreement with experimental data up to 2.5 MeV excitation.
