Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of interferon-γ(IFN-γ) combined with astragalus injection in the treatment of viral myocarditis (VMC). Methods 82 patients hospitalized with VMC were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using digital table method, 41 for each group. The control group were given vitamin C, coenzyme Q10, ATP, creatinine, etc. and took antiviral treatment, polarized solution, and other symptomatic conventional treatment; in addition, the observation group were given IFN-γand astragalus injection for 3 weeks. The clinical efficacies were compared between these groups. Results The total effective rate was 95.12% in the observation group and was 78.05% in the control group (χ2=5.144 7,P<0.05). The levels of TNF-γand IL-6 were significantly lower after than before the treatment in both groups (bothP<0.05). The levels of TNF-αand IL-6 were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group after the treatment (t=-3.779 9, -3.088 1, bothP<0.05). Conclusions IFN-γcombined with astragalus injection in the treatment of VMC is effective, safe, and reliable and can shorten the disease course and reduce adverse reactions, so it is worth being clinically generalized. Key words: Viral myocarditis; Interferon gamma; Astragalus injection
