INTERDISCIPLINARY MEANING OF TERM PARTICIPATION

Abstract

The article analyzes the research peculiarities of the interdisciplinary concept of “participation”. Based on the results of domestic and foreign scientific searches, it is indicated that the specifics of such a search is determined, first of all, by the field of knowledge in which the research takes place. The related areas of modern scientific and practical research on participation are public administration and political science. That is why the content of participation here is filled with the involvement of the individual in the processes of public participation, management, both at the state and local level, and control over the implementation of policies at the appropriate level. The financial and economic aspect of participation has been studied in terms of the regional economy: the participation of various subjects in accumulation, processing and development of various kinds of resources, as well as control over their use (budgets of participation in communities, projects of material and technical assistance, etc.). It has been highlighted that management studies the aspect of involving employees of different levels in cooperation for the development of the organization, as a specific feature of participation: the development and construction of strategic concepts for the development of the organization, projects for personnel career development, the motivational component of involvement, features of communication and team work. The specifics of meaningful content and practical application of participatory practices in foreign and domestic medicine have been analyzed: from interaction for informing (in Ukraine) to active involvement in joint work on systemic changes. The essence of “participation” has been studies through the prism of pedagogy: the participation of subjects in the educational process, their initiation of innovative forms and methods of interaction in the educational environment. It has been emphasized that in terms of psychological science, the understanding of participation has its own specificity depending on the field: political, organizational, social and others. In the conclusion a basic understanding of the concept of “participation” as a process and results of joint participation of individuals and their groups in the development of practical solutions regarding: solving or improving the severity of existing social challenges; strategies and policies of community development, has been formulated.
