Abstract
The chapter presents a qualitative case study on the effects of interdisciplinary approaches on internal change communication. Agile project management and behavioral economics strategies are reviewed as supportive change communication techniques during the COVID-19 pandemic early response. The chapter reviews the literature on organizational change management, psychology of change, internal change communication, and interdisciplinary perspectives. It then presents examples of using Agile project management and neuroeconomics (Nudge) theories as part of the change communication response in a 55,000-employee company based in the Middle East. Finally, it discusses the evolving role of internal communications and practical implications for internal communications practitioners.
