Abstract
The kinetics of simultaneous condensational growth of water droplets was investigated in an expansion chamber. Using the constant angle Mie scattering method (CAMS) we performed absolute measurements of growth rates and number concentrations. The experimental growth curves were compared to numerical calculations based on a modelof uniform bulk parameters. Excellent agreement was observed over wide ranges of number concentrations and supersaturations assuming sticking and thermal accomodation coefficients to be unity. This in turn allows a new independent absolute determination of particle number concentrations.
