Abstract

ABSTRACT Detergent solubilized, partially purified mouse H-2 antigens have been reconstituted in phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylcholine/cholesterol lipid vesicles. These lipid vesicles inhibit lysis by alloantibody and complement and inhibit specific conjugate formation between alloimmune cytotoxic T lymphocytes and target cells. With this system the influence of antigen density and lipid composition on immune recognition can be studied.
