Abstract

Bridges are important targets in the road infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova, which support the continuity of road traffic over various obstacles in the geographical landscape, including over waterways of various sizes. This article reflects the results of the research of the geographical conditions in which it was built, then rehabilitated the bridge over the river Răut, located between the localities of Prăneşti and Ștefănești in Floresti district. The size of the river segment across which this bridge crosses is of the seventh order, according to the Horton-Strahler ranking system. Therefore, the climate, geotechnical and hydrogeological characteristics were taken into account when carrying out the project. At the same time, the repair of the bridge and the nearby road route also targeted a series of environmental protection measures, such as: minimizing the impact on the relief of the river valley, carrying out anti-erosion works, which would reduce the possibility of solid material leaking into the river, vegetation protection and sowing of grassy vegetation for the consolidation of the banks and the land adjacent to the road, etc.
