Abstract
Spiritual intelligence is a concept that is not yet well investigated in France. However, it seems that there is no measurement scale to assess it in a French-speaking context. The purpose of this study is to adapt in a French speaking context and examinate the psychometric qualities of the “The Spiritual Intelligence Self Report Inventory” scale. An exploratory factor analysis was carried out on data collected, based on an online form, completed by 309 French participants such as a confirmatory factor analysis based on a sample of 421 participants. The results revealed: (Study 1) a four-factor solution: “conscious state expansion”, “critical existential thinking”, “personal meaning production” and “transcendental awareness”; (Study 2 and 3) such as satisfactory psychometric qualities. The discussion highlights the reasons why the French version of the spiritual intelligence scale is valid in terms of validity (structural, predictive, convergent and stability over time) and some of the limitations of this study. It also opens up new perspectives concerning workers and companies.
