Abstract
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita destroyed more than houses and businesses; they destroyed library facilities and collections. Until a disaster occurs, insurance is something that librarians think about only rarely. This article focuses on the insurance awareness of three academic library administrators in Louisiana and Mississippi in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The authors' intent is to inform readers of the importance of preparedness.
