Abstract
The article discusses a method of model verification to improve the safety and reliability of highly automated vehicles (HAVs) using Bayesian networks and a traffic simulator. The method helps an analyst to identify hazards related to HAV operations and to estimate their parameters before the start of vehicle operation, improving safety and reliability of HAV use.
