Abstract
Three-dimensional analyses on inter-carrier interference power (PICI) reduction methods using a rectangular pulse (RP), a raise-cosine pulse (RCP), a ''better-than'' raised-cosine pulse (BTRCP), a sinc power pulse (SPP) and an improved sinc power pulse (ISPP) are given. The effects of sub-carrier interference are analysed. Bit error rates (BER) of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system and a communications system employing BPSK modulation over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel as a function of carrier frequency offset @Df, carrier phase noise @q and pulse shaping P(f) are derived. Detailed discussions are given. Future work is also outlined.
