Abstract
Abstract Fast neutron radiography appears as a promising tool for large industrial components testing. The solid-state nuclear track detectors made of poly-allyl diglycol carbonate may be an alternative imaging tool. The presented work aimed to identify the main parameters necessary for the performance of fast neutron imaging using a DD neutron source. The parameters were determined using simulations in MCNP and Track $$\_$$ _ P, and experiments performed with the Pu–Be neutron source. The thickness of the polyethylene radiator, the etching conditions, and the method of scanning of the resultant image were proposed.
