Abstract

Although STEM-related careers offer promising prospects, girls and women remain underrepresented and less inclined to engage in these fields. This article explores men's role as allies for better inclusion of women in STEM fields. A qualitative study with seven professionals in the sector reveals an awareness of gender inequalities, often attributed to personal choices. The findings highlight barriers to engagement including unawareness of systemic inequalities, professional costs of advocating for equality, and personal dilemmas. Motivations are grounded in moral values and ethical considerations.
