Abstract

The ν 2 vibration—rotation band of formaldehyde- d 2 was measured with resolution of 0.05 cm −1, and about 1000 transitions were assigned for K = 0 ∼ 14 and J = 0 ∼ 50 with the aid of modified Loomis—Wood diagrams. A least-squares analysis resulted in: T001 6 origin A B C ν 2 1701.619 (4) 4.7266 (1) 1.069590 (8) 0.867348 (8) ν = 0 4.72510 (2) 1.076852 (3) 0.873510 (3) τ xxxx × 10 4 τ yyyy × 10 4 τ zzzz × 10 4 τ 1 × 10 4 τ 2 × 10 4 ν 2 −0.1011 (6) −0.0406 (3) −7.18 (11) −1.087 (10) −0.176 (2) ν = 0 −0.1013 (4) −0.0403 (3) −7.12 (11) −1.036 (9) −0.170 (1) in cm −1 units (with 3σ in the last digits given in parentheses). These values are consistent with recent results obtained by microwave and laser Stark spectroscopy.
