Abstract

Three infrared-infrared double resonance signals were observed in the Stark spectrum of PD 3 for the v = 15-14, P(20) line of the CO laser using the laser polarization diagonal with respect to the Stark field corresponding to the mixed Δ M = 0 and ±1 selection rule. They are caused by the accidental overlap of the r R 1(2) transition in the ν 3 band and the r R 2(3) transition in the 2 ν 3( E) ← ν 3 hot band. Their resonant electric fields, 1911.77 ± 0.05, 2053.47 ± 0.05, and 2232.74 ± 0.05 V/mm, calibrated against the LMDR signal of OCS, are useful as precise standards for electric field calibration in CO laster Stark spectroscopy.
