Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the use of new information technology to improve the management of microfinance institutions, experiencing a gap due to the growth of the microfinance sector and the diversity of products and services they offer to the target populations. We will show that artificial intelligence could play a role to ensure reliable management information systems in MFIs.
