Abstract

There is an increasing acceptance of multiculturalism in modern societies that are transitioning to multicultural societies. This study aims to identify psychosocial factors influencing the multicultural acceptance of students. Data of 1,220 students from the 7th year of the Korea Child and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Institute (KYPI) was analysed. The SPSS 23 was used for data analysis, and multiple regression analysis was performed. Community spirit, ego-resilience, peer trust, economic status, and peer alienation influenced the college students’ multicultural acceptance. The author suggests that the government can introduce suitable programmes to strengthen multicultural acceptance among school and college students.
