Abstract

This work aims to correlate the optical properties e.g. photoluminescence (PL) of the blend films with the crystal shape and size of acenes as it depends on these important factors: amount of small molecules and viscosity of polymer. Small molecules were blended with different molecular weights of polystyrene in organic solvent. Films were deposited by drop-casting. Absorption and PL spectra of the films were measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer and fluorometer, respectively. The film morphology was observed under microscopy. The possible correlation between the polystyrene molecular weight within the blend films and the morphology including the PL intensity will be explored.
