Abstract
Early lactation period represents a huge metabolic challenge for highly productive dairy cows and knowledge of haematological profile is important in assessing the health status of the animals during this period. The aim of this study was to determine the impact of the application of ketoprofen in haematological profile of cows in early lactation. The study was conducted on 30 cows. The experimental group of 15 cows was administered ketoprofen in a dose of 3 mg / kg body weight. Blood samples were taken from the tail vein (vein coccygea) on the day of calving, and the first and second week after parturition. Concentrations of haematological parameters such as the total number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin concentration, number of neutrophils and lymphocytes in the blood serum. It was observed reduction in the number of neutrophils and lymphocytes, as well as increasing the number of red blood cells and hemoglobin, which can be attributed to the anti-inflammatory effect of ketoprofen.
