Abstract

Terpolymers of ethylene with vinyl esters of halogen-bearing acids and vinyl alcohol have been synthesized by polymeranalogous transformations of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers. The dependence of the physicomechanical properties, degree of crystallinity, and melting point of crystallites on the composition of copolymers was studied. The change in the molecular mass characteristics in the course of polymeranalogous transformations was investigated. By methods of IR- and NMR-spectroscopy of model compounds it was shown that the essential factor determining the strength properties of synthesized copolymers in interaction of various polar groups in the amorphous phase of the polymer.
