Abstract

The reported study analyses the influence of weak constant magnetic fields (up to 0.6 T) on plastic characteristics of paramagnetic materials, e.g. titanium and aluminum. Such characteristics as microhardness, plasticity parameter and creeping process were investigated. In the process of work, it has been established that weak magnetic fields can essentially change plastic characteristics of the materials under consideration. The effect of magnetic field is linearly dependent on induction, becoming evident in changing microhardness of commercially pure polycrystalline titanium and aluminum.
