Abstract
This commentary provides an insight into the security risks and inclination, albeit unconsciously, to be swayed by national interests, that journalists face in their coverage of war and sectarian conflicts. The author, a journalist with The Week magazine in New Delhi, alludes to the issues of verification, attribution and personal security in his coverage of the conflict in Kashmir. He concludes that as long as editors and news organisations support the journalist, one should pursue the story despite the security risks.
