Abstract

The article is devoted to the organisation of independent activities of students in conducting and choral training. The author analyses the importance and role of self-preparation in conducting classes, discusses the concept of independent work, its main types and forms. The author’s attention is focused on the leading role of a teacher in the rational and productive organisation of this activity. The article also discusses the specific characteristics and personal qualities necessary for successful vocal and choral activities, among which the leading role is played by the conductor’s will.
