Abstract

The primary aim of the paper is to study the mechanical characteristics of L-Glutamic acid doped ZTS crystal. With sizeable merits in high-power lasers, the growth of L-Glu doped ZTS crystals is grown over 25 days and is mentioned briefly in this paper. Different analysis methods were carried out to describe the mechanical characteristics of the crystal. Though, the methods namely Vickers Pyramid number with applied force, Meyer power law, Hays-Kendall’s approach (HK approach), Proportional Specimen Resistance model (PSR model) and Elastic/Plastic deformation model (EPD model) were utilised, and every method indicated the clear trend of RISE behaviour of the crystal. The EPD model proved that it is best in providing the proper description of the grown crystal.
