Abstract
Abstract Solving the multisectoral, complex challenges involved in One Health requires inclusive collaboration and communication. Unfortunately, many natural scientists have not been trained in the social science research that informs effective science communication. In this Overview, I review the principles of inclusive science communication—intentionality, reflexivity, and reciprocity—and discuss how these principles can promote more effective communication with communities about One Health topics. In addition, I implicate the need for equitable science policy to support inclusive science communication. Finally, I provide a framework of self-reflection questions for scientists to grow as reflective and effective science communicators.
