Abstract

AbstractThis research is an investigation of the relationship between computer-assisted instruction (CAI) and students' attitudes toward the instructor and the course in the teaching of undergraduate electronic data processing. These relationships are evaluated by comparing the attitudes of a group of students who used the CAI programs to the attitudes of another group of students who did not use the CAI programs. The differences in attitudes between the two groups were attributed to the use of CAI since that was the only distinction between the groups. The results of this investigation indicate that the use of CAI significantly improved students' attitudes toward the instructor. This conclusion, based on the results, is limited to CAI programs which are adequate according to students' perceptions, as was the case in this study.
