Abstract
The problems in the method for determination of the electrical characteristics of Hall plates using relaxation method are: (1) improvement of computing accuracy, (2) reduction of computing time, and (3) reduction of memory capacity. A method is devised which allows an improvement in reduction of computing time and memory capacity, on the basis of reduction of the number of mesh points. By this method, the whole potential distribution is determined using half of a Hall plate. This method is applied to a Hall plate in which the shape and the distribution of all factors affecting potential distribution are symmetric with respect to the geometrical center-point. By application of this method to a rectangular Hall plate of Hall angle 17 degree and length/width ratio 2, the memory capacity and the calculating time are decreased respectively by 1 2 and by 2 3 compared with those of the methods heretofore used.
