Abstract
The Extended Management System (XMS) presented in this paper is a management system which aims at harmonising the information exchange within companies and organisations, as well as along value chains. It forms an extensive concept for designing Information and Communication (I&C) structures in an organisation. Supported by information technologies, the concept determines employees' authorities and responsibilities depending on specific situations and realises personal job enlargement. The XMS tends to record the current state of an organisation and to configure it oriented to its demands. The ideas concerning the XMS carried out in this paper, as well as the implications of the system, will be reflected and discussed in Section 3 along defined themes considering product development as an example. Thus, the benefit of this concept for a company or an organisation will be verified.
