Abstract

Expert systems are one part of the science of artificial intelligence which has recently experienced very rapid development. This system is designed to mimic the expertise of an expert in answering questions and solving problems in various fields. A system that is more practical and has the capabilities of an expert in determining diseases in palm plants is needed. To make expert systems more natural, a Certainty Factor is often used in them. This method provides space for the expert to provide a value of confidence in the knowledge he expresses. Based on the results obtained from the black box testing, it can be concluded that this Certainty Factor-based expert system prototype can run as it should with a 100% system success rate and can display analysis results by the results of observations tested to farmers and experts.
