Abstract

When waste management meets the error reduction framework, we obtain Lean Six Sigma (LSS), i.e., the application of the LSS framework helps decrease the frequency of errors or breakdowns and reduce wastage when implemented in any organisation required at any place or platform. When we take the current Automotive Industry, we see a lot of scope of implementation of LSS. The wastages of resources reported from the automotive industries around the world have shot up, only due to the race of industrialization. But to cater to the needs and to consider wastage reduction, LSS has been proven to help reduce the wastage, when deployed in automotive industries, according to the research done till date. The frequent breakdowns to the component defects, can be reduced by incorporating an efficient model using LSS, which can be changed as required depending on the organisation’s ultimate goal, in this case, an Automotive Component Manufacturing firm in general. This paper will be reviewing the implementations of LSS and their results to date and future possibilities.
