Abstract

Distributed generation (DG) units, based on their interfacing technology are divided into synchronous generator interfaced DGs, asynchronous generator interfaced DGs and inverter interfaced DGs. In this paper, the transient and voltage stability of power system with high penetration levels of the different DGs are investigated. It is assumed that all future load growth is met by adding the power generation of DGs and thus, the supplied power of main synchronous generators and load flow in transmission lines remain constant. With each penetration level of DGs, the performance of power system is studied and results are compared with the performance of power system without any DG. Simulation results will be provided in order to show the feasibility and effectiveness of our studies.
