Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of motivational interviewing on the Ketamine-associated cystitis. Methods 30 patients with Ketamine-associated cystitis were randomly divided into observation group and control group.Patients in the two groups were given traditional and nursing.meanwhile, in the contral group were given MI intervention during hospitalization. All patients were assessed by SCL-90 and clinical symptoms (micturition frequency per day, maximal micturition volume ) on admission, discharged day. Clinical symptoms and relapse were re-assessed on 6 months after discharge. Results after MI intervention, micturition frequency per day was significantly decreased and maximal micturition volume was significantly increased. The scores of the SCL-90 index in the observation group were superior to control group on 6 months discharged day, all P﹤0.05.the relapse rate was in the observation group markedly lower than that of the control group. Conclusion MI interventions can effectively relieve the mental status of Katamine abusers, improve clinical symptoms and decrease relapse to Katamine. Key words: Motivational interviewing (MI); Katamine; Cyctitis
