Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the impact of digitalization of customs services on ensuring the economic security of the Russian Federation. The paper presents a description of the services provided by the customs authorities of Russia; displays calculations of the shares of applications submitted in electronic form by citizens and legal entities, and services provided in electronic form by officials of the customs authorities. The author highlights the features of the process of digitalization of customs services. These features are divided into three categories depending on the effect obtained: enhancing the interaction of customs authorities and other public institutions, developing and adapting the country’s economy to modern conditions, and also forming new requirements for the economic life of society. The article contains an assessment of the identified features: the need to harmonize the efforts of the customs authorities of all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the need for an integrated approach to the digitalization of the system of state regulatory authorities, the feasibility of combining digitalization of the activities of customs authorities with the concept of ”smart city”, the possibility of quantitative growth and qualitative development of the country’s economy, reorganization of the market, the continuous increase in the need for digitalization of services, as well as the formation of fundamentally new risks associated with the use of digital tools.
