Abstract
The article touches upon the issues of identification of non-smoking tobacco products (sucking tobacco - snus and chewing tobacco); definitions of these terms are given in accordance with the current regulatory documents. Under the guise of chewing tobacco, snus is imported into the territory of the Russian Federation, the import of which is prohibited. The article shows the existence of the problem of identification of chewing tobacco in the production of customs examination; using the example of experimental samples, the features of manual and machine sieving and the influence of the composition of fractions of tobacco raw materials and humidity of non-smoking tobacco products on the fractional composition of the product are considered; the presence of shortcomings in the method of determining the fractional composition according to GOST R 58553-2019 is proved.
