Abstract

To describe the immunohistochemical features and the histological picture of mucinous borderline ovarian tumor, to determine their significance for the diagnosis. Materials and methods. The patient’s medical history was analyzed, as well as the results of histological and immunohistochemical studies on histological preparations of postoperative material — a removed ovarian tumor. Results. In the micropreparation of the cyst of the right ovary, sections of the formation of the ovary are presented, the proliferating epithelium of the mucinous type is determined, the atypia of the cell nuclei, the activity of mitosis are determined, there are papillary growths, branching glandular structures, there are areas of deposition of psammological bodies. No invasion of the organ stroma was found. This histological picture corresponds to a mucinous borderline tumor of the ovary. Due to the complexity and diversity of the histological structure of ovarian tumors, an immunohistochemical study is used for the final confirmation of the diagnosis. Immunohistochemical study of postoperative material was carried out using antibodies WT-1, p53, Napsin A, ER, PR, PAX8, CK7, CK20, CDX2, Ki-67. Conclusions. On the example of this clinical case, the immunohistochemical features of a mucinous borderline ovarian tumor were established. Accordingly, the diagnosis of mucinous borderline ovarian tumor was confirmed.
