Abstract

The performance of 128×128 and 256×256 miniband-transport multiple quantum well focal plane arrays (FPAs) is presented. The detectors typically have a peak wavelength of 9.1 μm with spectral bandwidth of 1.2 μm. Laboratory measurements using the NVL 3D noise analysis technique indicate that the best MBT MQW FPAs have a temporal noise equivalent temperature difference (NETD) of 15 mK and spatial NETD of 30 mK (for a 10°C calibration interval) when operated at 60K in an f/2 camera system.
