Abstract

Originally presented of the Dublin symposium of the W 65, this paper describes a pilot study by the Department of Building at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, to establish job and personality profiles for members of the building middle-management team. The findings are indicative only, but they do reveal possible ways ahead for the sensible use of vocational psychology techniques to improve future personnel selection, training and management in the industry. The author is research assistant in the Department of Building at the University.
