Abstract

This paper attempts to present a novel and safe, non-contact method to classify drunk and sober people, unlike the conventional techniques. For example, using a Breathalyzer can increase the chances of infection. The image classification is programmed based on two differently trained machine learning models, whose results are compared and their accuracy predicted. Using thermal IR images helps identify the thermal behaviour of the facial features, mainly around the eyes, which, according to studies, widely increases when intoxicated with alcohol.
