Abstract

Asymmetric conjugate addition of carbon nucleophiles to electrophilically activated olefins represents one of the most important and versatile strategies for the asymmetric construction of carbon–carbon bonds. In this chapter, seminal works and significant advances in catalytic asymmetric conjugate addition of sp2- and sp-carbon nucleophiles to electron-deficient olefins, namely hydroarylation, hydrovinylation, and hydroalkynylation reactions, are summarized.
