Abstract
This study discusses the importance of knowledge about diabetes in shaping patients' attitudes and behaviors toward disease control, particularly in terms of diabetes medication consumption. Good knowledge allows patients to better understand their condition, leading to greater adherence to prescribed treatments. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to taking Diabetes Mellitus (DM) medication among patients in RW 18, Pedurenan Village, Bekasi City in 2023. The research method used a quantitative approach with an observational analytic design and a cross-sectional approach, involving a sample of 106 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results show a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and adherence to taking medication, with a p-value of 0.000 (less than alpha 0.05). In conclusion, there is a strong correlation between patients' knowledge levels and their adherence to taking DM medication in RW 18, Pedurenan Village, Bekasi in 2023.
