Abstract
A problem that teenagers often face is the emergence of bullying behavior, which is aggressive behavior that is often repeated among peers. Bullying is known as a social problem that is often found among school children. Most bullying behavior is carried out consciously and deliberately with the aim of hurting other people.Objective: To identify the relationship between peer support and efforts to prevent bullying in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Jember. Method: The design of this research is correlational with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a sample size of 141 respondents. The number of samples used was class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Jember. Results: The majority of peer support was moderate support as many as 72 respondents (51.1%), the majority of bullying prevention efforts were good prevention as many as 73 respondents (51.8%). The statistical test used is Spearman rho. Based on the results of statistical tests, a value was obtained (p value=0.000). Conclusion: The results show that there is a relationship between peer support and bullying prevention efforts in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Jember. The higher the peer support, the better the bullying prevention efforts.
