Abstract

The Khwârazmian State is a political and cultural structure that contains the most important medieval period in history. The local political element emerged in the Khwârezm region, which later reached the widest limits of the period. and became representative of the post-Seljuk central structure. Together with the Khurâsân and Irâq domination, the Khwârazmshahs entered relations with the Ismâ’îlî Nizaris State, which struggled against political and religious structure. During this time, in which the Alamut domination was intensively active in terms of propaganda, the Ismâ’îlîs struggled to integrate by modifying their doctrines according to the changing political conditions of the time. As a matter of fact, this research tried to analyze the two political elements that affected an important part of history using available resources. The issues where sources are controversial and silent were examined and analyzed in the research. As a result, the Ismâ’îlîs, which the the Khwârazmian State had to deal with from its beginning to its collapse, has a very important place in understanding the events of the period. Thus, analysis of the issue will contribute to the clarification of Khwârazmians’s relations with the Abbasid Caliphate, the Mongols, and other local states.
