Abstract
This research examines the historical and evolving understanding of the greenhouse effect and climate change. The first part provides a historical overview, tracing the study of the phenomenon over the past 200 years, analyzing patterns of CO2 levels and temperature fluctuations throughout geological time. Hypotheses and theories regarding past climate shifts are also considered. The second part analyzes late 20 th and early 21 st-century research, noting the ambiguities and inconsistencies in current theories and conclusions. The study concludes by emphasizing the complexity of the issue and the need for continued, comprehensive research to avoid misinterpretations and flawed policy decisions. The conclusion underscores the critical importance of continued research, emphasizing the need to avoid hasty conclusions and erroneous decisions regarding the complex problem of climate change.
