Abstract

Job embeddedness is an effective tool for promoting the work outcomes and retention of migrant workers. However, existing approaches to facilitating the embeddedness of this group has limitations. First, priority is given to embedding migrant workers in their host country, while neglecting simultaneous embeddedness in multiple nations. Second, the focus is on individuals rather than couples. We examine the role of transnationalism and resources within couples in their embeddedness and resulting consequences through person-centered and dyadic research approaches.
