Abstract
This paper describes the practical development of highly reliable software used in a Fail-Safe Computer Control System. The research and development project undertaken requires not only that the final system should be fault-tolerant, but also that any erroneous condition should not result in incorrect outputs. The hardware system uses classical Triple-Modular-Redundancy techniques but, as is well known, the design of the system software presents many new problems.
