Abstract
The landscape book fairs is changing: as new events are appearing, especially in emergent economies, the world's greatest book fairs are revising the way they organize themselves and are giving space to the new players in the industry, including technological enterprises. Book events are becoming less and more technological. In India, however, many book events revolve around the literary scene and endeavor to highlight the merits of literature--a concept which, in itself, is hard to define. A number questions arise: What is the importance India in the international book world as a publishing center? What are the Indian book industry's relations with other book markets around the world?
