Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of high frequency electric cauterization combined with nasolacrimal duct stent implantation for the treatment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction.Methods 176 eyes of 170 patients of nasolacrimal duct obstruction were involved.They underwent high frequency electric cauterization combined with nasolacrimal duct stent implantation.The patients were followed up for 6 ~ 12 months.Results The surgery was successfully performed in 172 eyes.Four eyes failed probing and dilatation of lacrimal passage.The effective rates were 95.54%,85.23%,82.57% and 81.18% at 1,3,6 and 12 months postoperatively.Conclusion The high frequency electric cauterization combined with nasolacrimal duct stent implantation is satisfactorily effective for nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
