Abstract
Treatment of secondary spontaneous pneumothorax in high-risk surgical patients with chronic pulmonary disease is a challenge in standard and emergency care. The observation that supplementary oxygen may lead to better reabsorption of pneumothorax has been known for over 50 years. It can help to avoid potential high-risk interventions or surgery in multimorbid patients.
