Heterogeneity among the uniform-size fragments obtained from TMV-RNA

Abstract

Sequence analyses have been performed on 11 long-chainlength oligonucleotides isolated from RNase T1 digests of tobacco mosaic virus ribonucleic acid. The chainlengths of these oligonucleotides range from 14–72 nucleotides. The structures of six oligonucleotides have been determined, including one that corresponds to a portion of the amino acid sequence in the coat protein. Partial sequences have been established for the remaining five.
