Abstract
As Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Ivy Tech Community College, South Bend‐Elkhart in Indiana, Chris Douse sees new students struggling with a variety of issues that could prevent them from graduating. And so he works to find ways to “remove those barriers and provide wraparound support services to them so they can be successful.” That means ensuring that students not only graduate, they’re also equipped to go on to successful careers in high‐demand fields in the region, said Douse, a Ph.D. candidate who previously served as Director of Retention and Engagement and Student Success and Engagement.
